David M. Ross, Vice President

SouthComm, Inc., Vice President David Ross has built a career on music business entrepreneurialism. Born and raised in Boston, Mass., Ross obtained a B.S. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School before later attending the Berklee College of Music, where he majored in arranging.

A road musician for 10 years, Ross founded Music Row Magazine in April 1981, and it quickly became a music industry standard. Music Row also publishes the annual In Charge directory; the weekly song-plugger pitch list, “RowFax”; and the weekly Country Breakout™ small-market radio charts. Ross also writes the weekly “Face The Music” column, which covers all aspects of Nashville’s entertainment business.

Ross currently serves on the boards of The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the Country Music Association. His interests outside of family and work include physical fitness and technology. Ross and wife, Susana, have been married for 33 years and have two children: Michelle, 26, and Isabel, 21.
