Sherod H. Robertson, Chief Financial Officer
Sherod H. Robertson, who serves at Chief Financial Officer of SouthComm, Inc., launched his career as a certified public accountant (CPA) at the Dallas, Texas, branch of Arthur Andersen & Co. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Alabama, Robertson served as auditor with Arthur Andersen for four years before relocating to Nashville, Tenn.
Upon arriving in Nashville, Robertson was hired on as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of contemporary Christian independent record label, Reunion Records, Inc., and its publishing company, Reunion Music Group, Inc. In 1995, Robertson became a senior finance executive for Nashville's Arista Records, a music entertainment company with a roster of top-selling artists such as Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson and Brad Paisley. It was with Arista that he served as director with primary responsibility and financial liaison between the local Nashville operations and the corporate office in New York.
Robertson transferred his talents to the media and publishing industry in 2006, when he joined the Nashville Scene, an alternative newsweekly, which at the time was led by publisher, Chris Ferrell. While at the Nashville Scene, Robertson was an integral part of the transition of the Scene into the corporate structure of Village Voice Media, formerly known as New Times.
In November of 2007, Robertson joined in Ferrell’s departure from the Nashville Scene to form SouthComm, Inc. Serving as CFO, he continues to develop financial and operational strategies for SouthComm as an information utility company.
