SouthComm, Inc announced today it is acquiring the Nashville Scene and Nfocus from Village Voice Media. The deal is expected to close on Friday, August 21. Terms of the transaction are not being divulged.

VVM has owned and operated the Scene since 2006. Chris Ferrell, CEO of SouthComm, was Publisher of the Nashville Scene from 2005-2007. more...

Firm will dovetail with holding company's chamber custom publishing arm

SouthComm, a niche publisher and the parent of NashvillePost.com, has acquired the assets of Target Marketing Inc., a publisher of maps for chambers of commerce and cities throughout the country.

Based in Crescent Springs in Northern Kentucky, Target Marketing is more than 25 years old and also does business as The Map Group. It has worked with chambers from Seattle to Las Vegas to Nashville and is led by CEO Philip Hageman, who is staying on in that position. more...
