SouthComm, a niche publisher and the parent of NashvillePost.com, has acquired the assets of Target Marketing Inc., a publisher of maps for chambers of commerce and cities throughout the country.
Based in Crescent Springs in Northern Kentucky, Target Marketing is more than 25 years old and also does business as The Map Group. It has worked with chambers from Seattle to Las Vegas to Nashville and is led by CEO Philip Hageman, who is staying on in that position.
"This was a strategic acquisition for us," said SouthComm CEO Chris Ferrell. "Combining the chamber map division with our SouthComm Publishing chamber magazine division makes us one of the largest publishers working with chambers of commerce in the country."
SouthComm was formed in late 2007 to operate regional niche publications. In addition to NashvillePost.com and SouthComm Publishing, the Nashville-based company owns The City Paper, BusinessTN magazine, MusicRow, the Medical News chain of papers, Her Nashville and LEO, an alternative weekly in Louisville.
